Multiple Tincture Support A "multi" tincture contains a proprietary herbal blend designed to provide comprehensive multiple system support. Clinical Applications/ResearchBladderwrack Bladderwrack, like Kelp, is a seaweed that provides a healthy supply of nutrients and oxygen. Bladderwrack is high in natural minerals. Bladderwrack is said to regulate thyroid function due to its iodine content. ParsleyParsley is an herb in which the leaves, seeds, fruit and root are all used for health benefits. Parsley is high in chlorophyll, vitamins A, B and C, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, calcium and iron. It is an excellent cleanser and assists in digestion. It has been used as an effective diuretic (because of its high potassium content, parsley doesn’t deplete the body of potassium like over-the-counter diuretics). Parsley is frequently used in green drinks for its high nutrient content as well as being a tonic for the blood vessels. Parsley is a good blood purifier and beneficial in bronchial and lung congestion. It is a good body deodorizer and helps freshen the breath. DandelionDandelion is an excellent liver remedy and has a high carotenoid content. Dandelion is a good natural herbal cleanser, and a good source of calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. According to A. Leung, who reviewed several studies on dandelion, it, "...enhances the flow of bile, alleviating liver congestion and bile duct inflammation" (as cited in, Marti, J. & Hine, A. Alternative Health Medicine Encyclopedia 1995. Visible Ink Press, Washington, D.C. p. 84). Dandelion is also a powerful diuretic. It is one of the best natural sources of potassium and replenishes this mineral, whereas other diuretics can deplete potassium. BurdockBurdock is a good herb to use to neutralize and eliminate toxins from the body, as it rids the lymphatic system of congestion and promotes efficient kidney function. This herb also promotes perspiration, which enhances the detoxification process and brings down fevers. Burdock has also been beneficial in breaking down calcium deposits in the knuckles and joints and relieving the inflammation of arthritis. Burdock is high in minerals, especially iron, niacin (vitamin B3) and vitamin C. GingerGinger is well known for aiding digestion and has been shown to enhance the effectiveness of other herbs. Ginger is also a potent anti-inflammatory product. The gingerols, an active ingredient in ginger, have demostrated some ability to reduce the pro-inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotrienes (Chem Pharm Bull. 1992; 40:387-391). Slippery ElmSlippery elm combines well with other herbs because of its ability to adhere or hold together with other herbs. Because of this cohesive property, it often stays in the stomach in extreme cases of nausea or vomiting. Traditionally, it has been used in ulcers, colitis and diarrhea. This is a very gentle herb and is tolerated well by infants as well as the elderly. Slippery elm calms the inflamed mucous membranes of the stomach (Balch JF Presc for Nutr Healing 1990, Garden City, NY). Fo-ti RootFor centuries, Fo-Ti has been used as a tonic herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Within that culture, it has been regarded as a stellar rejuvenating and restorative plant that retards aging and increases longevity. Fo-Ti is used today for this purpose by millions of Chinese. It is also used to enhance liver and kidney function, as well as cleanse the blood. Suggested Dosage5-20 drops in water three times per day or as directed by your healthcare professional. The combination of herbs in this herbal tincture work together in creating synergistic effects, and smaller amounts of the herbs are utilized for optimal effects.
